Converting a report to a chart or graph:

Why Use Charts and Graphs?

  • Simple to Understand: Charts and graphs turn numbers into pictures. This makes it easier for everyone, even those who aren't good with numbers, to grasp the information quickly.
  • Easy to Remember: Pictures are often easier to remember than just words and numbers. When you use a chart or graph, people are more likely to understand and remember your key points.
  • Show Trends: Charts and graphs can show how things change over time. For example, you can see if student test scores are going up or down.
  • Compare Things: They help you compare different things. For example, you can see which class performed better on a test by looking at a bar graph.

Types of Charts and Graphs:

  • Bar Graph: This is like a set of bars, where each bar represents a different group or category. The taller the bar, the bigger the number.
  • Line Graph: This shows how something changes over time. It's like a line that goes up and down to show increases and decreases.
  • Pie Chart: This looks like a pie that is cut into slices. Each slice shows a part of the whole.
  • Table: A table organizes information in rows and columns, making it easy to compare and find specific data.

Tips for Making Great Charts and Graphs:
